Who or what has influenced the "Thinking" behind my work and ideas?
What do I seek to explore/address/respond to/reflect/examine;
At first I had been looking at ideas with The Rock in mind, maybe I could create some kind of land-art, following a discussion on Ann's painted mushrooms in open Urban areas, looking for peoples reactions when investigating?  also looking at some of Brine Shrimp's work in America. Salt Lake. Spiral Jetty. Vancouver, pouring glue. Concrete pour in Chicago. This got me thinking? what if, I was to direct different tones of light to the face of The Rock, or, wrap The Rock in different colour materials for each month of the year?  Stopped in my tracks after a visit to the theatre.  Saved:  By Edward Bond.  First staged in 1965, caused lots of debate.  Banned by the Lord Chamberlains Office - at the time responsible for licensing and censoring plays.  Had to be shown privately by the Royal Court Theatre. Quote from synopsis - If their culture did not respect them they could not respect themselves - because shared community is the core of humanness. To me this reflects on present society.  The recent riots on the streets of London and whats happening in the rest of the world today? we are made to believe that our world leaders are the pillar's of society, Solid as a Rock?
It's a fine line we tread!  What is the difference between the rich and the poor?  I'm not rich in money terms, but I consider my self rich in mind!  Greed is the ruin.

My visits to Saatchi Gallery, always a rich experience.  Richard Wilson 20:50  1987  Used sump oil.  The gravity draws me in every time. I always seem to relive that first visit, with the strong stench on my way to gallery 13, I know I've smelt it before?  The addiction we have for commodities? we have put ourselves in a position that we rely on so much that we are unable to survive without it, also relying on Hi-Technology, just look at the recent problems with Blackberry?  When the systems collapse we are incapable of what to do.
